Why Bother?
This programme was designed to switch students in year 7, 8 & 9 on to learning so
that they can recover and achieve improved examination results at GCSE.
The course consists of showing students how learning can be fun as well as essentially
giving them a life well-above their expectations.
Overview of Contents
- Show students that learning is what their brain does each and everyday of their lives and
that good and bad behaviour is the same to the brain, it's just learning.
Hence, it is only how we focus our learningthat makes a difference, not whether we can learn
- Demonstrating to the students that there is more in it for them to become efficient
learners than playing around in schools and that they can achieve. All that it takes is
the first step. This course will help them focus on their first step
- How to use their own brain power to focus on the learning required at school
- How to think before they write or calculate
- How to have a brilliant memory
- How to read to achieve a much higher level of comprehension
We would envisage this programme taking two three-and-a-half hour sessions with a normal
school break per session.
